Actually today I come a little bit late because of my last session is physical education where it take place outside the school. After delaying the class around ten minutes, then we start the class. First of all, Mr. Herry asked us to submit our homework. The homework is essay task two. After that, we continue the class by starting the practical assessment – singing performance. All of us have to sing the same song that is I Got Rhythm. Jeffrey Koby give us an idea on the order of the performance. Due to the reason that he has the idea, so he’s the lucky number one to do the singing performance. Then after he done with his performance, he choose the next person who will do the performance. The chosen one have to do it because that’s the rule of the order and it happens continuously. I think my performance is not good because I didn’t have enough time to prepare and in the last music class I was absent so I didn’t really know what’s happening in the class. While singing it in front, I forgot the middle part of the lyrics, a bit nervous and also I sing a little bit too fast from the background music. Next time, I will make sure that I will make a better performance. After we done with our singing performance, we have to write our reflection of our performance and then Mr. Herry distributed a paper where we should make a list of song that we will be singing in the next singing assessment. At last, that’s the end of the class.

First of all, Mr. Herry check our attendance and also checking whether do we bring the complete resources or not. After Mr. Herry asked us about our jazz song that we will be singing in the next assessment because a lot of my friends haven’t write the title of their song in the paper yet. Then, we move on to learn on how to compose the blues melody and chord. Mr. Herry teach us about the notes that are used in composing the melody and also the beat of it. He tell us to take copy what he wrote on the white board and he also gives us examples on how to do it using the keyboard. After that, Mr. Herry remind us again that next week on Thursday we have our second singing assessment on singing the jazz song. On next Thursday, we also have to submit our hard copy of our own creation blues melody in using the Finale software. At last, due to the reason that today is split session so we can have our lunch break.
Piano Class
Today I learn to play the blues chord in the piano. It’s not really hard to play this blues chord and I think I play it well today. However, I still need to practice on it and improve it by making a melody to it.
This is the seventh video that I have recorded my self-playing the piano in term 3. In this video, I’m playing the blues chord. Before recording this video, I didn’t have any practice yet however at the end the result is quite good. I have remembered the chord so I didn’t have to read my music notebook.
This is the eighth video that I have recorded in term 3. In this video, I’m practicing my singing for the next assessment with the song I Haven’t Met You Yet – Michael Buble. This is the first time that I’ve tried to sing without the help of the background sound so it’s still weird and not really into the beat. I still need more practice to make a good performance in the singing assessment.
Very good Viena, as requested posted in weekly column rather than monthly column ...Also good reflection...
